Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2024 Christmas card has drawn criticism, with royal expert Cameron Walker claiming it feels “odd” and lacks “personality.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released the card, which includes snapshots from their international travels as well as a family photo featuring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Despite marking the annual tradition of festive greetings, the card failed to impress both critics and royal fans.

Speaking to GB News, royal correspondent Cameron Walker shared his disappointment, noting that the tone of the card felt impersonal and detached. “That Christmas card was odd because the wording of it said, ‘on behalf of the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan,’ which seems very far removed from the principles themselves,” he explained.

Walker further elaborated on the card’s content, acknowledging the inclusion of a family photo as well as romantic images of Harry and Meghan. “We have this one new photograph of Harry, Meghan, and their children. Lovely. We had one photograph of Harry and Meghan being all loved up, lovely,” he said.

However, the royal correspondent pointed out a key issue: the lack of personal touches. “It appears that there wasn’t much personality in there. It seems like somebody else did it on their behalf,” Walker remarked.

The card’s inclusion of photos from the couple’s tours throughout the year also sparked questions about its intention, with critics suggesting it felt more like a curated highlight reel than a heartfelt family greeting. Walker’s remarks come just weeks after Prince Harry shared with The New York Times that he is content with his life in America alongside Meghan and their two children.

Despite their apparent happiness, the Sussexes’ Christmas card has left some questioning the couple’s approach to maintaining a personal connection with their supporters.

While Harry and Meghan are no strangers to scrutiny, this latest round of criticism underscores the challenge they face in balancing their public image with their private lives—especially when it comes to traditions like holiday greetings.

For now, their card has sparked debate, with royal watchers split on whether it represents a meaningful message or a missed opportunity to showcase a more authentic and personal side of the family.
