24 hours in the life of the future Queen of England Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall
British Vogue did a piece on the wife of Prince Charles, who will soon be King
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, wife of Charles, Prince of Wales, will be the next Queen of England after Queen Elizabeth II passes away, according to British Vogue.
Camilla, 75, is looking forward to the next chapter of her life, which is already jam-packed with private and public engagements. The Duchess of Cornwall was formally invested as Royal Lady of the Order of the Garter at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, after taking over as patron of the National Theatre on the South Bank, as per news reported.
Her various titles vary in importance, yet she is always dedicated to her work. Camilla decided to visit the National Theatre to meet with the leadership team and watch actors workshop a new play in between days of her Vogue photoshoot; she then went to an exhibition of Alfred Munnings paintings in Belgravia in her role as patron of the British Sporting Art Trust; and she spent several hours at the BBC World Service speaking with war correspondents.
Camilla will launch I Am at Manchester Central Library next week. I Am is a show featuring award-winning photographer Allie Crewe’s photos of domestic abuse survivors. The exhibition, which is sponsored by SafeLives, a charity that the Duchess also supports, focuses on domestic violence, sexual abuse, and rape.
Camilla rarely sees Prince Charles
Camilla has been working with organizations that tackle such issues for some years, but she also has a passion for the arts, health, literacy, and animals. She has approximately a 100 presidencies and patronages that keep her incredibly busy, to the point where she rarely sees Prince Charles.
“It’s not easy sometimes, but we do always try to have a point in the day when we meet,” Camilla says of The Prince of Wales. “Sometimes it’s like ships passing in the night, but we always sit down together and have a cup of tea and discuss the day. We have a moment.
“It’s lovely to catch up when we have a bit of time. You know when we go away, the nicest thing is that we actually sit and read our books in different corners of the same room. It’s very relaxing because you know you don’t have to make conversation. You just sit and be together.”
