A video montage of past interviews featuring Vice President JD Vance harshly criticizing President Donald Trump has resurfaced and gone viral on X, Irish Star reported Monday, March 3.
“This JD Vance’s video was deleted from Twitter by Elon Musk and my account (220k followers) was suspended,” claimed the user @resist_vanessa, who posted the video on March 1. Despite alleged attempts to suppress it, the video has since amassed over 5.1 million views.

Vance’s past disdain for Trump is well-documented. According to Reuters, he privately referred to Trump as “America’s Hitler” during a conversation with an associate on Facebook at the start of Trump’s first presidency.
However, his stance evolved when he decided to run for the Senate in Ohio in 2022 and sought Trump’s endorsement. Vance later claimed that his shift in perspective was gradual, ultimately conceding that he had been “wrong” about Trump.
The viral video compilation circulating on X showcases several instances where Vance is seen or heard openly criticizing the man he now serves as vice president. In one segment from an interview with journalist Charlie Rose, Vance states, “I’m a ‘never Trump guy,’ I never liked him.”

Another clip, taken from The Matt Jones Podcast, captures Vance agreeing with the host that Trump was a “total fraud.” He adds, “Like I said, I agree with you on Trump because I don’t think that he’s the person. I don’t think he actually cares about folks.”
A particularly damning excerpt, reportedly from NPR, features Vance acknowledging, “There is definitely an element of Donald Trump’s support that has its basis in racism and xenophobia.”

The final clip further underscores his previous opposition to Trump, with Vance stating that he might vote for Hillary Clinton if Trump came close to winning the 2016 election. Otherwise, he expressed his intent to vote Third Party, as he “can’t stomach Trump” and believes “he’s noxious and is leading the white working class to a very dark place.”
The resurfacing of these comments has reignited scrutiny over Vance’s political transformation and alignment with Trump, with critics questioning his credibility and consistency. Meanwhile, Trump allies have yet to publicly address the viral video, which continues to fuel debate across social media platforms.
