Woman Tricks Fiancé Into Killing His Lover & Her Family Before Dying in Murder-Suicide

Newly uncovered details reveal a chilling and elaborate plot behind the murders of Alberto Rolon, his wife Zoraida Bartolomei, their sons Adriel, 9, and Diego, 7, along with their three dogs. According to police documents obtained by, Fox 32, the tragic deaths are linked to Bartolomei’s workplace lover, Nathaniel Huey Jr., and his fiancée, Ermalinda Palomo.

The documents describe how Palomo discovered Huey Jr.’s affair with Bartolomei and devised a sinister scheme. Using fake social media accounts, she convinced Huey Jr. that he was entangled with a “Mexican and Bulgarian criminal organization.” She manipulated him into believing that there was a “‘mole’ planning to attack him,” and two days before the murders, she claimed that Bartolomei was the mole.

NBC 5 reported that Huey Jr. and Bartolomei’s romantic relationship began when they met at an engineering company in Glendale Heights. After learning of her fiancé’s infidelity, Palomo created a series of fake social media profiles and pretended to be part of a cartel, revealing details of the affair to intimidate both Huey Jr. and Bartolomei.

According to the police reports, Palomo’s communications with Huey Jr. convinced him that he was under constant surveillance by the fictitious organization, raising doubts about his loyalty. “Based on years of communication, Nathaniel’s response seems to indicate he fully believed the information being fed to him by Ermalinda, but did not know Ermalinda was the person he was communicating with,” the report stated.

On September 14, just two days before the murders, Palomo, under her cartel guise, persuaded Huey that Bartolomei was a “mole” and planned to attack him. Palomo then collaborated with Huey Jr. to orchestrate Zoraida’s murder. Together, they studied the neighborhood, located cameras, and discovered that the house behind Bartolomei’s was vacant, providing an entry and exit point.

“They discussed the persons residing at the residence, including Zoraida, Alberto, and their two children, as well as the number and types of dogs in the house. Ermalinda told Nathaniel to cause damage to make the scene appear to be a burglary committed by kids,” the police report stated, per ABC 7. She even reassured Huey Jr., saying, “Many murders go unsolved.”

In the early hours of September 16, Palomo drove Huey Jr. to the scene, waiting in the car while he allegedly carried out the murders. The following day, police discovered the family’s bodies. Initially, there was no solid evidence against Huey Jr. and Palomo, so they were questioned and released.

However, by September 20, investigators named them as suspects. The pair fled to Catoosa, Oklahoma, where police attempted to apprehend them outside a Walmart. A high-speed chase ensued, ending in a fiery crash after Huey Jr. allegedly shot Palomo. Huey Jr. was killed in the crash, and Palomo was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

Documents reveal that Huey Jr. allegedly confessed to his mother before his death. However, the couple’s attorney, John Paul Ivec, claimed he had no knowledge of this confession or the identity of Huey Jr.’s mother.
