Oxegen Music Festival
Europe’s greatest music festival, Oxegen is a full on entertainment event having enthralling days and musical nights. It is also the largest music festival in Ireland with funfairs, camping, music workshops, 3D cinema screen, tempting foods and trading companies.
Oxegen is the annual music festival in Ireland that is alluring masses since 2004. Due to its excellent ambience in 2007, 2008, 2009 it has been termed as Ireland’s biggest music festival and by the end of 2009 festival it was named as the greenest festival in the world being 100% carbon neutral event in Ireland.
Oxegen Music Festival started as a three day event but in 2008 expanded to four days. Every year it takes place at the Punchestown Racecourse in County Kildare, Ireland with about 90,000 people attending it a day. Around 80,000 people camp on the site whereas many travel to the site each day. Oxegen Music Festival holds on same weekend each year and attracts attention of music lovers all across the world. Many celebrities also visit this festival as such Josh Hartnett, Ronnie Wood, Helena Christensen, and Chris Pontius.
Members of the band include Snow Patrol, R.E.M. and The Killers who share their experiences about the festival. For two consecutive years, the festival was named as the “Best European Festival” in a poll that included Netherlands, United Kingdom, France, Spain and others. Whereas, Leagues O’Toole has termed it as “enormously successful, award-winning, established brand aimed at a young audience out for a good time, a post-Leaving Cert rite of passage perfect for acts with big singalong tunes that sound great in the mud.”
Oxegen Music Festival 2011 is planned to start from 7-10 July, 2011 at Punchestown Racecourse near Naas, County Kildare in Ireland. Music bands My Chemical Romance, ColdPlay, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Eyed Peas, and Foo Fighters are lined up to play.
