“The Coward Shoots Them,” Man Opened Fire and Killed Three, Injured Two Women Including Teen Girl after Short Domestic Dispute
The public is in full disbelief following the shooting on Wednesday, in which a suspect opened fire on five ladies, including a teenager, killing three of them and injuring two others. The gunman faces a slew of charges, and if convicted, he will almost certainly spend the rest of his life in prison.
According to the police report, the fatal shooting occurred on Wednesday, when the shooter, identified as Z. Palmer, 19 years old, killed three ladies and injured two others in a ‘domestic-related’ shooting.
Following a 911 call about a shooting in the evening hours of Wednesday, Virginia authorities were called to the location. They discovered five women with apparent gunshot wounds when they got on the site. Three of them died at the site, while the others, including a 19-year-old teenage girl, were conscious but not life-threateningly injured.
The culprit had already departed the area before first responders arrived. Because the women knew him and he was a well-known offender with a history of violence, authorities were able to quickly identify him. The victims’ connections to the attacker were not revealed by police.
The victims have been identified as Detra B, 42, Nicole L., 45, and Sara C., 44, while the identities of the injured women have not been revealed. One of the injured women is 39 years old, while the other is a 19-year-old adolescent, according to the police. Both are expected to recover quickly from their injuries.
A few hours after the event, local officials were able to find the suspect, and he was captured about 10:30 p.m. the same day. One day after the shooting, authorities held a press conference to reveal the identity of the culprit.
Palmer faces multiple charges, including three counts of second-degree murder, two counts of malicious wounding, and five counts of firearm usage, and if convicted, he will almost certainly spend the rest of his life in prison. According to authorities, he is being held in the Norfolk County Jail without bond.
According to WAVY, when Police Chief Larry Boone presented the case to the public, he was emotional and angry about what had happened, just like the rest of the public.
“The suspect shot one victim and as the community was trying to render aid, the coward shoots them,” he told the outlet. “This has to stop. We need to start speaking up because this, I’ve never seen this in my 30-year career: five women shot,” Boone added. “This nonsense has to stop and this idea that everybody can be saved, that’s gone by the way of the dodo bird.”
“She didn’t bother anybody.” the cousin of one of the victims told WTKR. “We’re just trying to figure out why. Why does this happen in this community? Innocent people? Three women? This has to stop.”
