Sarah Murdoch and husband Lachlan share PDA at SailGP Championships in Sydney
Sarah Murdoch, the renowned 51-year-old British-Australian model, and her spouse Lachlan Murdoch shared a moment of affection at a public event this past Sunday. The couple made a stylish entrance, with Sarah dressed elegantly in white pants, a matching top, and sneakers, complementing Lachlan’s appearance.
The event saw Lachlan expressing his affection with a kiss for Sarah, underscoring their strong bond. He was also seen enjoying a moment to himself, smoking a large cigar while leaning on the balcony, taking in the surroundings.
The Murdochs, who are parents to two sons, Kalan Alexander and Aidan Patrick, and a daughter, were also present at the debut of Qtopia in Sydney. This new museum is dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community and its history. Their attendance underscored the couple’s support for diverse cultural initiatives, told Daily Mall.
Residing in the prestigious Bellevue Hill area, in their home known as Le Manoir, the Murdochs have been married since 1999, sharing a long history. Their appearance at Qtopia is particularly poignant, given the museum’s location in Darlinghurst, a site with deep historical roots related to LGBTQIA+ activism.
This location, once a police station, is remembered for the detention of 53 individuals in 1978 during a march for gay rights and the decriminalization of same-sex relationships. This march, marred by violence, would later evolve into the celebrated Sydney Mardi Gras, an event that has gained acknowledgment and celebration over the years. In a significant move towards reconciliation and acknowledgment of past injustices.
The New South Wales Police Force issued an apology in 2016 for the violence that occurred during the original march, marking a step forward in the relationship between law enforcement and the LGBTQIA+ community. Murdoch’s presence at Qtopia’s opening serves as a reminder of the ongoing journey towards equality and acceptance.
