Joy Behar Shocks ‘The View’ Panel with Comment on Trump’s Alleged Cognitive Decline

Former President Donald Trump’s performance in the recent presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris drew scrutiny, with concerns about his “repetitive speech” and potential cognitive issues. Experts have even suggested Trump consult a neurologist to evaluate the risk of dementia.
This hot topic found its way to The View, where co-hosts discussed the possibility of Trump experiencing “progressive cognitive decline.” During the discussion, co-host Joy Behar made a surprising quip, asking, “Wait, so you’re saying he has the big D?”
According to The Wrap, Behar didn’t mean it in a sexual context, even though The View had previously speculated about Trump’s closeness to right-wing activist Laura Loomer, questioning why he included her in the 9/11 memorial services despite her controversial history.
Trump’s former staffer, Alyssa Farah Griffin, shared her concerns about Trump’s mental state, noting, “I have a bit of a theory… I was very critical of Biden and what I saw as sort of the decline that came with age. I’m ringing this bell — there is a decline with Donald Trump.”
Griffin continued, explaining that Trump’s recent behavior suggests poor judgment, particularly as he faces both the election and his numerous legal battles. “His criminal cases do not go away if he loses,” Griffin pointed out.
She emphasized how Trump has allowed fringe figures, like Loomer, into his circle and made bizarre public statements, such as the false claim that “they’re eating the pets.” Griffin concluded that Trump’s mental decline isn’t receiving enough attention.
At that point, Behar’s comment about Trump having the “big D” caught the panel off guard. Co-host Ana Navarro quickly intervened, asking for clarification. Sunny Hostin stepped in to explain, “She means dementia.” Behar, realizing the double meaning of her joke, quipped, “Dementia.
What are you talking about? Oh, ‘D,’ I see. Never mind.” While Behar often makes risqué jokes, this comment was a humorous but unexpected moment on the show. This isn’t the first time Behar has used humor to take jabs at Trump.
According to The Daily Beast, in a previous episode, Behar joked that President Joe Biden should challenge Trump to push-ups in a debate, adding, “The last time Trump did a push-up, he was on top of Stormy Daniels,” sparking gasps and laughter from her co-hosts and the audience.
