Nominations for the 77th Golden Globes Have Been Announced

Though it’s hard to believe, awards season is just around the corner. Which means it’s time to start planning out those viewing parties, figuring out which frontrunners you still need to see, and maybe making a few early predictions.

As usual, the Golden Globes will celebrate the very best of both movies and television. But one thing will be different about awards season this year: it’s happening a little earlier. The 2020 Oscars are slated for February 9, and every other awards show. The Screen Actors Guild, Directors Guild, Writers Guild and Producers Guilt Awards has also been bumped up earlier on the calendar.

The ceremony will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, California. Based on the timing of previous ceremonies, the awards will begin at 8 p.m. ET, with the red carpet running for roughly three hours beforehand. Ricky Gervais is set to host the show for the fifth time.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on NBC. Both NBC and E! will broadcast live coverage from the red carpet. E!’s Live From the Red Carpet special will begin at 6 p.m. ET, while NBC’s carpet coverage will begin an hour later at 7 p.m. ET. If you prefer to stream the show, you can use your cable login to access the feed on NBC.com or the NBC app. Last year, the telecast was also available to stream through several platforms including Hulu Live TV, DirecTV Now, Sling TV, YouTube TV and Fubo TV.

Golden Globe statues appear on stage at the nominations for the 77th annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in Beverly Hills, Calif.
