Ellen DeGeneres is still facing intense criticism years after her exit from the entertainment industry, with former Bachelorette star Ali Fedotowsky becoming the latest to speak out against her. Despite stepping away from the limelight four years ago following allegations of mistreatment on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 66-year-old comedian is reportedly frustrated by the ongoing scrutiny.
“She cannot fathom how people are still coming after her,” a source revealed to Life & Style magazine. After multiple former employees accused DeGeneres of fostering a toxic work environment, several celebrities also shared negative experiences with her. Now, Fedotowsky has added her voice to the criticism, further tarnishing DeGeneres’ hopes of redemption.
A source close to the comedian stated that DeGeneres has no desire to engage in the controversy and has tried to remove herself from the situation. She even relocated to the UK last year in an effort to distance herself from Hollywood drama.
“There’s nothing Ellen can do at this point except try to stay away from the mess,” the insider shared. “If she tries to defend herself, this may only add fuel to the fire.” The backlash has reportedly taken a toll on DeGeneres, who is struggling to process the relentless negativity.

“It’s incredibly upsetting and frustrating for her,” the source continued, noting that while DeGeneres would like to refute Fedotowsky’s claims, there is little she can do to disprove someone’s personal feelings. Adding to her disappointment, DeGeneres’ hopes of a Hollywood comeback appear to be fading.
“She genuinely thought she could take this time away in England and maybe in a year or two try and dip her toe back into showbiz,” the insider explained. “But the hatred for her is still as strong as ever if these two nobody reality stars are comfortable openly trash-talking her.”
The source further revealed that DeGeneres is feeling “very defeated and depressed” amid the continued backlash, and her dream of returning to the industry is now “pretty well dead in the water.”
Once one of the most beloved talk show hosts in America, DeGeneres’ legacy remains overshadowed by controversy, leaving little room for a return to the career she once dominated.
