Daniel Radcliffe Stars in All Quiet on the Western Front
Radcliffe, who will forever be associated with the big-budget franchise based on the best-selling novels by J.K. Rowling no matter what else he accomplishes in his career, has signed on to star in All Quiet on the Western Front, a remake of the 1930 critically acclaimed/Oscar-winning film (based on the novel by Erich Maria Remarque), reports Variety.
Radcliffe’s stepping into the Paul Bäumer role played by Lewis Ayres in the original film. Ian Stokell and Lesley Paterson of Sliding Down Rainbows Entertainment are producing the film and also wrote the script.
And because Radcliffe’s committed to starring onstage in How to Succeed Without Really Trying and needs to finish that up before starting work on All Quiet on the Western Front, production’s not likely to start before 2012.
Radcliffe recently wrapped work on the final Harry Potter movies, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2. Part 1 hits theaters on November 19th with Warner Bros setting July 15, 2011 for Part 2.
