Cobra Kai Stars Delight Fans with Surprise Engagement Reveal

Talk about art imitating life! Cobra Kai stars Tanner Buchanan and Mary Mouser have just confirmed they’re engaged, taking their on-screen chemistry straight into the real world.
Rumors had been swirling after the pair rocked matching rings at the Cobra Kai series finale event on 12 February. Fans didn’t have to wait long for an answer—just a day later, they made it official with a heartfelt Instagram post, complete with romantic snaps from the big night.

“We’re so happy to finally share that we’re engaged,” Buchanan wrote in the caption of their joint post. “This is such a special moment in our lives, the closing of one chapter and celebrating the continuation of another.”
The 26-year-old actor added, “We’re so grateful for the love and support, and though we’re partial to having our private moments, we’re excited to share this check-in to our world.”
The couple first met while filming Cobra Kai, Netflix’s hit continuation of The Karate Kid franchise. Mouser, 28, plays Sam LaRusso, daughter of legendary karate champ Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), while Buchanan stars as Robby Keene, the estranged son of Daniel’s old rival Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka).
Even Cobra Kai co-creator Jon Hurwitz couldn’t resist joining in on the celebrations. Taking to X, he joked about his role in their love story, writing:
“We’re matchmakers first, showrunners second. Our primary goal with Cobra Kai was for Daniel LaRusso’s daughter and Johnny Lawrence’s son to fall in love in real life. Mission accomplished. So happy for them! A perfect couple!”
