Inside Suri Cruise’s new dorm room at Carnegie Mellon University
Suri Cruise is beginning a new chapter in her life as she steps into college at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The 18-year-old started her move-in process on Sunday, preparing for classes to begin on August 26.
According to sources close to Suri, she is eager to embrace the full college experience, including living in a dorm. “Suri wants the full college experience, so she’s giving dorm life a try and will have a roommate. She’s excited for what’s to come,” a source revealed.
Suri’s new living situation marks a significant shift from her previous life in her mother Katie Holmes’ upscale three-bedroom high-rise. At Carnegie Mellon, she will reside in Donner House, a modest, four-story dormitory that accommodates nearly 250 first-year students.
While the accommodations may be basic, Carnegie Mellon’s campus offers a variety of appealing amenities. Students can enjoy a range of on-campus dining options, including cappuccinos, croissants, pasta, and smoothies, as well as access to a state-of-the-art wellness center.
Suri’s new environment at Carnegie Mellon promises a blend of academic rigor and vibrant campus life. Donner House offers a range of room configurations, from singles to triples, with some rooms featuring bunk beds to accommodate up to four students. Each room comes equipped with essential furniture, including a single bed with storage underneath, a five-drawer chest, a desk with three drawers, and a chair.
Donner House, a traditional residence hall with a strong sense of community, houses around 240 first-year students. The dorm boasts a large community lounge on its first floor, providing a space for students to connect and relax. The residence hall is known for its welcoming atmosphere, symbolized by its mascot, the blue whale.
“What has a bigger heart than a blue whale? (Answer: nothing.),” the dorm’s website proudly declares, emphasizing the close-knit and supportive environment that Suri will now be a part of. As Suri Cruise embarks on her college journey, she is set to experience both the academic challenges and the vibrant social life that Carnegie Mellon University has to offer.
