Sophia Bush and Grant Hughes Drop Bombshell Update in Dramatic Divorce Filing

Sophia Bush and Grant Hughes have officially reached a divorce settlement after nearly one year of legal proceedings. The One Tree Hill actress filed for dissolution of marriage from Hughes in August 2023, just 13 months after their wedding.

On December 30, 2023, the former couple signed the final divorce papers, making the split official, according to People magazine. In response to Bush’s divorce filing, Hughes cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation.

He listed June 27, 2023, as their date of separation, just two weeks after the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Reflecting on their anniversary, Bush had shared a now-deleted post on social media in which she wrote, “Today marks 365 days of calling you ‘husband.’

Best decision of my life. It still feels just like this. Ecstatic. Running toward the future, grinning and laughing, together. I love you, my favorite. Happy Anniversary.” Despite the end of their marriage, neither party requested spousal support in their divorce filing and agreed to cover their own legal fees.

However, they did encounter a disagreement regarding a “Unity Agreement” in their prenuptial agreement, which remains an unresolved issue as they head into 2024. The conclusion of their legal proceedings brings an official end to their brief marriage, and both Bush and Hughes move forward separately after what was initially seen as a fairytale romance.
