‘Ellen Can Still Reinvent Herself’: Sofia Vergara yearns for Ellen DeGeneres’ comeback in Hollywood

Sofia Vergara is a firm believer in Ellen DeGeneres’ potential to return to Hollywood, despite Ellen’s recent exit from the limelight. According to a source speaking to In Touch Weekly, Sofia is among the people in Hollywood who don’t believe Ellen’s career is over, even after she left Southern California and stepped away from the public eye.

“It’s not an overstatement to say that some of the qualities that got Ellen shamed or canceled in the public eye are the exact qualities that helped her initially bond with Sofía,” the insider revealed. The source went on to explain the strong connection between the two women, saying, “It’s more than just mutual respect, they both have that ‘girl boss’ DNA and a killer instinct when it comes to making money.”

Ellen DeGeneres left her hit talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, after reports of abusive behavior from her staff. Following the show’s end, Ellen attempted a return to comedy with her Netflix special, For Your Approval, but it failed to gain traction. In the wake of the special’s lackluster performance, Ellen and her wife, Portia, decided to “leave showbusiness behind for good.”

However, Sofia Vergara is not ready to count Ellen out. According to the source, Sofia believes Ellen simply needed a break from the “endless barrage of online criticism” she was facing. “As far as Sofía is concerned, Ellen is not a lost cause,” the insider said.
