Pamela Anderson Reveals She Could Have Ended Up Like Amy Winehouse Amid Shocking Drug Confession
Pamela Anderson recently opened up about her struggles with mental health and how she could have gone down a dark path similar to the late Amy Winehouse. In a candid interview with RadarOnline.com, the Baywatch star credited her children with helping her cope and keeping her grounded through difficult times.
The 57-year-old actress shared her journey towards self-acceptance, stating, “I think, instead of trying to be this polished person… I’d rather be raw. One eye is smaller than the other, my nose is crooked, and my lips are weird. Everyone is weird. Everyone has imperfections.”
Reflecting on her past, Anderson admitted that she once felt lost. “Ten years ago, I felt like a failure. I think it was probably the last 20 years, maybe.” She added that while she’s not sure if she’s ever been clinically depressed, she doesn’t shy away from embracing her emotions, including the darker ones. “I don’t mind feeling poetic or having dark days. Sometimes, it’s not just a day – sometimes it’s a month, sometimes it’s a year, and sometimes it takes a little time. And you can also numb yourself out.”
Despite her past struggles, Anderson credits her children with keeping her from going too far off track. She shared how her life could have taken a different direction. “I hung around with a lot of fun artists. But I always had my kids and I always had rootedness, so I never went too crazy, even though it may seem like I did,” she explained. “I was always having a really good time and having fun, but I didn’t go down any dark, dark paths.”
In a previous interview with Glamour, Anderson recalled a touching memory of Amy Winehouse, sharing that the late singer once came to see her show in Las Vegas. “I still have her jacket with a ticket to the magic show in her pocket,” Anderson revealed.
Reflecting on how close she came to losing herself, Pamela explained, “There were many times where I could have just gone that way, but what saved my life – and you never want to put this on your kids – were my boys.” She added, “Because without my boys, I wouldn’t have been able to be as strong as I was.”
Pamela’s heartfelt revelations highlight the importance of her family in keeping her grounded and the inner strength she’s developed over the years.
