Miley Cyrus Seeks Closure from Liam Hemsworth Years After Split
Years after their publicized breakup, Miley Cyrus is reportedly seeking closure from her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth, according to a source speaking to Life & Style. Despite the passage of time since their separation, Cyrus is said to be struggling with how their relationship ended and believes a face-to-face conversation could help her move on.
“Miley’s still very scarred and tormented by the way things ended with Liam. When they broke up she really thought it was for the best and that she’d never look back, but now all these years have gone by and she’s having to admit she still misses him,” the source revealed. “She’s convinced that if they were to sit down and talk it out and each make amends she’d be able to fully move on.”
Although Cyrus, 31, insists she has no intentions of rekindling their romance, she feels a discussion is necessary for closure. However, Hemsworth, 34, reportedly has no interest in revisiting their past. “He says he’s over it and has moved on and just wants to leave what they had in the past and doesn’t see any need to hash anything out. Miley is used to getting what she wants, so it’s driving her nuts that Liam won’t agree to see her,” the informant added.
Adding to the complexity of the situation, Hemsworth reportedly maintains close relationships with Miley’s family, including her father Billy Ray Cyrus, and sister Noah Cyrus. This connection exacerbates Cyrus’s feelings of hurt, especially since Hemsworth regularly communicates with them. The situation was highlighted when Noah “liked” a recent Instagram post of Hemsworth, which featured him in a workout session, told PEOPLE.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth had a tumultuous relationship that spanned nearly a decade, including an on-and-off engagement before they married in 2018. However, their marriage was short-lived, culminating in a separation announced in August 2019 and a finalized divorce in February 2020. Their representative stated at the time, “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and their careers.”
The ongoing curiosity about Cyrus’s feelings towards Hemsworth was further fueled by her hit song “Flowers,” which fans speculate might be about him, released three years after their divorce. This song, among other actions, suggests that Cyrus may still be processing her feelings from their relationship as she navigates her personal and professional life post-divorce.
