Lea Michele and Naya Rivera in Sexy Black Midi-Dresses
Forget a sing-off, Lea Michele and Naya Rivera competed in a red carpet fashion face-off as they attended Glee’s 100th episode celebration party at Chateau Marmont on Tuesday night. The multi-talented women both opted for sexy black midi-dresses as they vied for the honour of most flesh flashed. While Naya’s figure-hugging number revealed plenty of cleavage as well as cut-out side detail, her co-star won hands-down in her sheer lace frock featuring a built-in bra-like bodice which exposed her high-waisted black knickers underneath. The 27-year-old, who is currently riding a wave of success following the release of her debut album, Louder, on February 28, was certainly out to make an impression. The stunning brunette displayed her toned figure in her eye-catching ensemble, which also featured a black band around the waist, while she added some much-needed height to her petite frame with a pair of strappy gold studded stilettos.
She kept her accessories to a minimum, with just several gold rings and stud earrings. Her make-up was fresh, natural and golden, while her long glossy locks were pulled back into a high ponytail. Naya, also 27, wore her golden locks in messy waves, while she played up her dark eyes with plenty of smoky shadow, keeping her lips a complementary nude hue. She jazzed up her frock, which featured a sheer black neckline, with a thick black and gold metal choker, and completed her outfit with black suede stilettos and a small black pillbox clutch. She proudly flaunted her impressive engagement ring given to her by fiancé Big Sean, while she donned diamond stud earrings to match.
Also in attendance at the bash was Dianna Agron, who opted for a fun and colourful ensemble. The actress teamed a lilac and pale yellow V-neck top with a pleated green skirt featuring beaded waist detail. Pale pink patent leather platform heels, a soft coffee-coloured large envelope bag and several bangles completed her look, while she also opted for messy waves and enhanced her flawless complexion with fresh, dewy make-up and soft pink lips. The stars had plenty to celebrate, with their hit musical series notching up an impressive 100 episodes that night.
Can’t wait for tonight’s 100th episode of Glee! I’m so proud to be part of such an amazing show that brings me such joy every single day,’ Lea, who plays Rachel Berry, tweeted earlier that day as she posted several throwback photos to her first day of filming back in 2008. While the milestone celebration is split over two episodes, the first part kicked off with plenty of familiar faces returning to farewell McKinley High’s Glee Club. Mr Schue (played by Matthew Morrison) kicked off the festivities by leading the group in performances of their favourite songs from during their time in the club.
Kristin Chenoweth returned as former McKinley alum and Broadway star April Rhodes, while Gwyneth Paltrow also brought back fun-loving substitute teacher Holly Holliday. ‘There’s a whole Facebook page for people who were guests of Glee Club,’ Holly told Will, revealing that she’s no longer a sub but has started a pop-up teaching program. ‘I just show up, unannounced, teach a class then get out of there.’ Clearly not a fan of the kids recapping their favourite performances, she announced: ‘When Holly Holliday’s in town, this hot b**** is not looking in her rear-view mirror,’ before launching into a rendition of Pharrell Williams’ Happy.
Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) and Mercedes Jones (Amber Riley) reignited their high-school rivalry as they performed a ‘diva-off’ to the song Defying Gravity from musical Wicked. Other old cast members to make an appearance include Dianna Agron and Heather Morris, who are best known as former Cheerios cheerleaders Quinn Fabray and Brittany S Pierce, respectively. Neither returned for the tribute episode for Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson, following his shock death from a drug overdose last July.
While 27-year-old Heather gave birth to son Elijah on September 28, reports stated that Dianna wasn’t asked back as she’s not popular among the cast and crew. Both characters faced their feelings head-on as they realised they still cared for their exes. Poor Brittany was left hanging after telling Santana (Naya Rivera) they should be together and kissing her passionately. ‘It’s your choice. If you want me, I’m here,’ she told her one-time girlfriend as she left her to ponder her own feelings. Dailymail
