Inside Kourtney and Travis’ romance, from love posts to ‘I dos’ in Sin City
When it comes to their relationship, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have never done things halfway.
The couple announced their engagement six months ago and are often spotted holding hands on the red carpet.
The Kardashians reality star and her musician beau made headlines this week when it was revealed that they may have married hours after Travis played at the Grammy Awards.
The pair explained on Wednesday that they were only following the old saying of ‘practice makes perfect,’ and that they were not legally married after the Las Vegas wedding… as you do.
Going public
Despite being friends for years, rumors of Kourtney and Travis dating surfaced only in January 2021.
Shortly after Valentine’s Day, the couple confirmed their relationship by making it official on Instagram.
To prove that they were dating, Kourtney posted a photo of herself holding Travis’ tattooed hand, and the love-in photos haven’t stopped since!
Despite going Facebook official in February, the couple didn’t walk the red carpet together until the MTV VMAs in September of 2021.
Extravagant engagement
Could we have asked for anything less? Travis asked the question during the couple’s October 2021 visit to the Rosewood Miramar Hotel in Montecito, California.
Kourtney shared images from the lavish proposal on social media showing the couple on the beach surrounded by red roses and candles.
Khloe Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Corey Gamble, Kris Jenner, and Tristan Thompson were all in attendance at the proposal and engagement party, according to E! News.
Travis’ children Landon, 18, Alabama, 15, and step-daughter Atiana De La Hoya, 22, were also present. Mason, Penelope, and Reign are Kourtney’s three children.
Blended family
Kourtney and Travis took their kids to Mexico for a trip a month after they got engaged to celebrate Travis’ 46th birthday.
According to the photos, the couple and their children appear to get along well so far.
They had a wonderful time soaking in the sun and horse riding along the beach during their trip.
Grand gestures and packing on the PDA
When it comes to getting cozy on the red carpet or in their gushing social media posts, Kourtney and Travis are definitely not camera shy.
Travis has even tattooed Kourtney’s name over his chest to show his eternal love for her.
The ‘wedding’ ceremony
Kourtney and Travis’ wedding took place after the Grammys, according to TMZ, and the couple wore Elvis 68-style his and hers black biker leather jackets to the One Love Wedding Chapel.
Kourtney is shown in photos obtained by MailOnline wearing a Yves Saint Laurent heart-studded bag with a slogan on the back that reads, What are you looking at a*****e?
On Wednesday, Kourtney clarified the issue by sharing a slew of photos from their ‘big night,’ which revealed that an Elvis impersonator was present for the non-official vows. ‘Found these in my camera roll,’ she wrote.
‘Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2 am, after an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license). Practice makes perfect.’
Well, that’s that then.
The chapel’s owner was also delighted with the visit from one of Hollywood’s hottest couples. ‘They came, got married, tossed the bouquet in the driveway, and danced to Elvis,’ the chapel’s owner Marty Frierson told People.
Stars can’t get enough of Las Vegas
Kourtney and Travis are the latest in a long line of celebrities to tie the knot in Vegas. It has drawn such loved-up megastars since it first rose out of the desert, and it is also recognized as the world’s marriage capital.
The wedding of Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow, who were both 19 at the time, took place in 1966, and Working Girl star Melanie Griffith married Miami Vice veteran Don Johnson for the first time in 1976 at a small ceremony.
Carmen Electra, the star of Baywatch, married former basketball legend Dennis Rodman in 1999, but the couple divorced six months later. Pamela Anderson, another Baywatch alum, married poker player Rick Salomon for the first time in 2007. They married twice as well.
While after another music ceremony, the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, Sophie Turner walked down the aisle to Joe Jonas.
