Two years after concluding his legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard, Johnny Depp insists he harbors “no ill feeling towards anyone.” In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 61-year-old actor opened up about his past experiences, including the turbulent period surrounding his divorce from Heard.

Reflecting on the media frenzy and public scrutiny he faced, Depp remarked, “Honestly, I can sit here this very second and think about all the hit pieces, and how everybody was against me, and yeah yeah yeah he is off the map … endless stuff.” Despite the intense coverage and backlash, he shared that he has come to terms with everything that happened.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star described the period as a mixture of emotions. “I can remember it all. Went through it all. Some of it was not the most beautiful time, but some of it was hilarious. Some of it was mad. The thing is, it simply just was, and it simply just is. So, for me, it happened. I learned, man,” Depp said, emphasizing his perspective on the experience as a life lesson.

Depp expressed that everything he’s gone through, whether trivial or significant, has taught him something valuable. “Everything that we experience, whether you’re given a snow cone or walking your dog, you learn something somewhere along the way. So I don’t have any ill feelings toward anyone,” he explained.

He elaborated further, saying, “I don’t have this great reserve of hatred, because hatred requires caring. Why carry that baggage?” When asked about the lingering impact of his public legal battles, Depp accepted that it would always be a part of his history. “Everything has been … it has really, it just is.

And on some level, it is gonna be around, that kind of thing. It’s like OJ or something. But hey, it just happened. That’s all,” he concluded, accepting that his past experiences will inevitably remain a talking point. For those unfamiliar with the timeline, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were married for only 15 months before their high-profile divorce, which was finalized in 2017 with a $7 million settlement.

Their separation was marked by a series of legal battles and accusations from both sides, ultimately leading to an explosive defamation trial that concluded two years ago. Despite the controversies, Depp’s recent comments suggest he is moving forward without harboring grudges or resentment.
