Jennifer Lopez is moving forward with no regrets after her recent divorce from Ben Affleck. In an interview with Interview magazine published on October 9, the 55-year-old singer and actress opened up about her decision to part ways with Affleck just two months after filing for divorce. Lopez made it clear that she doesn’t look back on her choice with any remorse, stating, “I do not regret it for one second.”

Reflecting on her journey, Lopez admitted that ending the relationship was exactly what she needed. “I think to myself… ‘Thank you, god. I’m sorry it took me so long. I’m sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it,’” she shared, expressing a sense of clarity and acceptance over the split.

Having been married three times before, Lopez likened the emotional impact of the divorce to being “hit … really hard over the head with a f**ing sledgehammer.” She acknowledged that while she once longed for companionship to feel complete, she now sees the “old Jennifer” who clung to that mindset as a “dumb btch.” Her perspective has shifted, and she’s learned to say “no” to the idea that she needs a partner to find fulfillment.

Despite admitting to feelings of loneliness and sadness following the breakup, Lopez emphasized that she has embraced her independence. “I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself,” she declared, highlighting her newfound sense of self-reliance and empowerment.

Though Lopez never directly mentioned Affleck’s name during the interview, it was clear whom she was referring to. Meanwhile, Affleck, 52, has yet to make any public comment on the divorce.

Lopez and Affleck’s relationship has been a whirlwind of highs and lows. The pair initially ended their first engagement in 2004, only to rekindle their romance in 2021. They tied the knot the following year, but their second attempt at love proved short-lived, with Lopez filing for divorce on their second wedding anniversary, August 20, 2024.

Now, with the past behind her, Lopez seems focused on the future, embracing her independence and showing that she’s ready for the next chapter—one defined on her own terms.
