Cardi B recently shared a frightening experience during a chat with fans on X Space, revealing that she suffered an accident that left her temporarily unable to move and nearly jeopardized her pregnancy.
On August 8, the 31-year-old rapper recounted the details of the incident, explaining how a simple slip turned into a serious scare. “I was going down the stairs and I slipped a little. I practically fell, but I was trying to prevent myself from falling, so I was holding myself on the railing. My foot still slipped, and I kind of busted my ass,” she said.
Cardi went on to describe the alarming moment when she realized something was wrong. “I felt a weird jerk, like a pop, and I couldn’t get up really,” she continued, noting that her father had to help her get up and move away from the stairs, told People.
“I noticed that I couldn’t really walk; I was feeling pain in my lower stomach,” she recalled. The situation worsened when she woke up the next morning. “I couldn’t move my bottom at all. Just moving my feet was hurting the bottom of my stomach. I couldn’t move. I felt paralyzed.”
Fearing for her pregnancy, Cardi rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered she had torn a ligament in her pelvis, dangerously close to where her baby’s head was positioned. The soon-to-be mother of three was kept under close observation as she began experiencing contractions every two minutes. “I was in a lot of pain. I couldn’t move for two days straight,” she shared, emphasizing the severity of her condition.
Cardi also took the opportunity to address critics who had previously criticized her for requesting morphine during her hospital stay. “So stop playing with me. I’m not even the type of person to exaggerate anything. You don’t even know what the f— is going on or what I’m going through,” she asserted, shutting down any doubts about the seriousness of her situation.
The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the challenges and risks that can arise during pregnancy, even for someone as seemingly invincible as Cardi B. As she continues to recover, her fans are undoubtedly relieved that both she and her baby are safe.
