Anna Kendrick has arrived in Los Angeles ahead of promoting Another Simple Favor, just as speculation about a rumored feud with co-star Blake Lively continues to swirl. The Pitch Perfect actress is expected to attend the world premiere of Paul Feig’s highly anticipated sequel at the South by Southwest Festival.
However, it remains unclear if Lively, 37, will join her, as she is currently entangled in a legal battle with It Ends with Us director and star Justin Baldoni. Rumors of tension between the two stars escalated last week when the official movie poster for the dark comedy mystery was released. Fans quickly noticed that Lively’s name was placed above Kendrick’s, despite the Oscar-nominated actress previously receiving top billing in the 2018 original film.

“In the original film, Anna got top billing over Blake,” an insider told DailyMail on February 7. According to the report, a deal was made after weeks of negotiations to balance the billing dispute. “They agreed on staggered billing, which meant Anna’s name would read first and Blake’s would be above hers but on the right-hand side.

In the business, that’s considered equal billing,” the insider explained. Despite the speculation, sources close to the production deny any behind-the-scenes drama. A source told TMZ that there was “no secret feud” between the actresses and clarified that “billing is established before production even starts and has nothing to do with either Blake or Anna.”

The sequel to A Simple Favor is set to hit theaters on March 7, 2025. The plot follows Kendrick’s character, vlogger-turned-detective Stephanie Smothers, as she travels to Italy to attend the extravagant wedding of the elusive Emily Nelson, played by Lively.
With both actresses remaining tight-lipped about the rumors, all eyes will be on the upcoming press tour to see if they address the speculation—or if their on-screen chemistry remains as sharp as ever.
