Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes Make Bold Family Decision That Everyone’s Talking About
Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes opened up about a key decision they made before making their red carpet debut at the iHeartRadio Jingle Bell event, revealing that they took their daughters into confidence before stepping out in front of the cameras.
On their podcast Amy & T.J., the former GMA3 anchors shared the conversation they had with their children before the star-studded night. “We had to have a discussion with our kid before we walked out on a red carpet,” Robach explained, adding that “they didn’t have to do it at all” if they weren’t comfortable.
“It’s no small thing,” Holmes remarked, emphasizing the significance of involving their children in the decision. “A discussion had to be had ahead of time,” he continued. Amy also shared her experience, describing it as the “first time” they had taken their daughters to a red carpet-event.
“Obviously, it’s only been a year since the two of us were on the red carpet, so for us to go on the red carpet with one of our daughters — a piece altogether, the four of us standing there, that was a decision,” she explained. “We talked to our daughters about it, and everybody was okay with it.
And so we went for it,” she reiterated, underscoring the importance of discussing the event with their daughters beforehand. Both Robach and Holmes admitted they were nervous about their children’s red carpet-debut.
However, their daughters—Sabine, whom T.J. shares with ex-wife Amy Ferson, and Annalise, whom Amy shares with ex-husband Tim McIntosh—were far less tense than the parents. “That wasn’t just something that we didn’t give deep thought to before we walked out on that red carpet,” Robach remarked, highlighting how seriously they took the moment.
The couple’s decision to include their children in the event made for a memorable family moment, with the red carpet debut marking a milestone in their personal lives.
