Happy Birthday Tamsin Egerton
Tamsin Egerton Dick is an English actress to start her acting career at the age of 6 because she wanted to do what her elder sister Sophia was doing. Egerton played the role of Princess Elenora in the TV children’s series Sir Gadabout: The Worst Knight in the Land. In 2001, she also acted as the “young” Morgaine in the TV miniseries The Mists of Avalon.
Now Tamsin Egerton is a leading model and is also well known for her roles as Lady Cundrie Britanniae in the BBC television programme Merlin, Chelsea Parker in the 2007 film St Trinian’s, Holly Goodfellow in Keeping Mum and Guinevere in the 2011 TV series Camelot.
During her school days, Egerton remembers being the subject of taunts and insult. She was also bullied to an extent that she did not like. Hence after finishing school at the age of sixteen, although she had a brilliant academic school career, she decided to pursue acting instead of going to the university. And at the drama school she had a wonderful time as the instructors there took a part and rebuilt her but she believed that it was difficult to change herself to that extent.
Along the way she also went through a brief job as a babysitter for three children. She shared a flat in Marylebone, Central London, with her St Trinians castmate Talulah Riley, whom she considered as her “soulmate”. She lived in Hampstead with theatre producer Jamie Hendry. She says Takeshi Kitano was her favourite film director, and said, “I’d love Takeshi Kitano to put me in a martial arts film so I’d have an excuse to practise all the time”.
