Shiloh leaves Brad Pitt disappointed amid his rift with Angelina Jolie
In the ongoing legal tussle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, their daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has made a subtle yet clear statement by choosing to identify herself as ‘Shi Jolie’ on her Instagram handle. This move by Shiloh comes amidst a broader pattern observed among her siblings, signaling a preference for familial allegiance during their parents’ public and contentious split.
The shift in last names among the Jolie-Pitt children first caught public attention when Zahara, another of Jolie and Pitt’s daughters, introduced herself as ‘Zahara Marley Jolie’ in a viral video. This occurred during her induction into the Mu Pi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at her university last year, marking a significant public declaration of her identity.
However, speaking with Life & Style, a source revealed that out of six, only Shiloh has “sympathy” for her dad now that he is estranged from his entire brood. Shiloh, for one, “is not trying to hurt her dad’s feelings,” the insider said. “She has sympathy that he’s estranged from some of her siblings, but she idolizes her mom and is just doing what feels comfortable.”
Following suit, Vivienne, their youngest daughter, was recently involved in producing a musical show titled “The Outsiders,” where she was credited as ‘Vivienne Jolie.’ This choice to not include their father’s surname in professional and personal representations reflects a deeper undercurrent within the family dynamics.
While Shiloh’s decision might seem like a mere adjustment on social media, it underscores her support for her mother, Angelina Jolie, in the ongoing disputes with Brad Pitt. Despite this apparent alignment with Jolie, it is noted that Shiloh still harbors sympathy for her father. Her choice to adjust her last name on a public platform like Instagram, however, speaks volumes about her current stance in the family rift.
This trend among the Jolie-Pitt children to align with their mother by adopting her surname exclusively sheds light on the personal impacts of their parents’ split. It not only reflects their personal feelings and loyalties but also how they choose to present themselves to the world amidst the family’s legal battles. As each child makes their way into public life and personal expression, these name choices serve as declarations of their independence and affiliations within a highly publicized family saga.
