Nicole Kidman revealed she called it quits on her engagement to Lenny Kravitz because the relationship ‘just wasn’t right
Nicole Kidman is in the limelight not just for her acting skills, but also for the fans’ curiosity about her personal life. It was especially true throughout her time with Tom Cruise and the events that followed.
To this day, fresh claims arise, such as Kidman’s present relationship with her children Connor and Bella, as well as the news that she almost dated Jimmy Fallon.
We’ll look back at Kidman’s time with Lenny Kravitz. We’ll explain how the couple started dating in the early 2000s and managed to keep it a secret. In addition, we’ll look at why the two decided to go their own ways and where they are now, years later. Fortunately, it appears that the two ended their relationship peacefully.
Despite the media circus surrounding Kidman at the time, Nicole managed to keep her relationship with Lenny Kravitz a secret after her separation from Tom Cruise. It is reported that the two became close after Kravtiz became Kidman’s landlord.
According to The List, things between the two started to heat up in the fall of 2002, when they were spotted together in public.
“They were always touching each other.” Another anonymous source said that the two were “gazing at each other all night long. [Kidman] was sitting on his lap, massaging his leg. They were eating off each other’s plates,” per People. And from here, things began to blossom into what would eventually turn into an engagement.”
Despite the fact that the two were on friendly terms, the engagement never went place. Kidman didn’t appear to be ready to remarry at that time in her life.
Nicole Kidman didn’t name names in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, but she did say that a particular engagement didn’t work out because two or more parties weren’t ready for that type of commitment.
“It just wasn’t right. I wasn’t ready. We weren’t ready,” Kidman revealed with Vanity Fair.
Kidman would go on to say that she doesn’t like flings and wants a deep connection in her relationships. That’s what she had with Kravtiz for a while.
She revealed, “I get engaged and I get married — that’s my thing,” she confessed. “I don’t want to date. I’m interested in a very, very deep connection.”
Although their relationship did not work out, they stayed on good terms with one another. Furthermore, it would be a remarkable moment for Kidman, since she would later reunite with Zo Kravitz, this time on-screen with Lenny’s daughter.
