Armie Hammer isn’t holding back after his intense sit-down with journalist Louis Theroux. The actor, 38, who has been at the center of scandal for years, used Theroux’s podcast to address the controversies that derailed his Hollywood career—including allegations of abuse, adultery, and even cannibalism. The conversation was anything but smooth, with Hammer expressing frustration over how it started.

Hammer, who has been working to rebuild his reputation, admitted he wasn’t happy with the way Theroux kicked off the interview. As the discussion wrapped up, he made his feelings clear, saying: “I wasn’t crazy about how the interview started. I’m not keen on drudging all that stuff up because, for me, a lot of these issues have been resolved, either legally or within myself, and I think a lot of those waters have settled.”

He went on to say that revisiting these topics felt unnecessary and counterproductive. However, he acknowledged that the interview eventually took a more civil turn, adding: “I’m glad we got past that and got to a place where we could have a civil, normal conversation and that felt good. But drudging all that stuff up, I don’t love it.” While Hammer was eager to move on, Theroux wasn’t letting him off the hook just yet.

Sensing Hammer’s discomfort, Theroux pointed out that public opinion on the allegations against him was still unsettled. Hammer, clearly frustrated, pushed back, responding: “Pick anything the public court has an opinion on, and there’s a very good chance they won’t be informed, and there’s also a very good chance that they’re probably wrong.” His remark highlighted his frustration with the way he believes he’s been judged by the media and the public.

At the peak of his career, Hammer was hit with allegations of sexual abuse and disturbing claims about cannibalistic fantasies. While charges of sexual assault were dropped in 2023, the accusations left a lasting impact on his reputation. Hollywood quickly distanced itself from the actor, and his once-thriving career took a nosedive. Now, he’s trying to find a way to move forward.

Hammer continues to dismiss many of the claims as baseless and attention-seeking. However, he does admit to one thing—cheating on his wife, Elizabeth Chambers. Their marriage, which lasted nearly a decade, ended after his affair became public. He reflected on the situation, saying: “You know, I’m certainly not here to air the dirty laundry of my marriage, but it was a classic tale of two people growing over a long course of a long marriage.”

Hammer also addressed the bizarre cannibalism allegations, which stemmed from leaked messages in which he allegedly described disturbing fantasies. Laughing off the claims, he insisted the texts were “digitally altered” and quipped: “You know what you have to do to actually be a cannibal? You have to actually eat human flesh. So no.” He made it clear that, while he’s made mistakes, he refuses to accept the more outrageous accusations.

Despite the controversy still lingering, Hammer appears determined to shift public perception and reclaim his life. The big question now is whether Hollywood—and the public—will be willing to welcome him back.
