The internet is once again abuzz with a fictional story involving the Trump family. This time, the focus is on First Lady Melania Trump and a fabricated interview with a so-called liberal TV host named Alex Brooks. The viral tale, which began circulating earlier this month, has fooled many despite being entirely AI-generated.

The rumor gained traction through posts shared across platforms like Facebook, TikTok, Truth Social, and X (formerly Twitter), often linking back to YouTube videos. One video from the channel Elite Stories, titled “Melania Trump Hilariously DESTROYS Liberal TV Host on LIVE, Her Response Left Everyone Speechless,” became the centerpiece of the frenzy, quickly amassing hundreds of thousands of views after being uploaded on January 21.

The video description teased a dramatic exchange: “What happens when a seasoned talk show host tries to put Melania Trump on the spot with deeply personal and provocative questions? In this unexpected live interview, Melania’s calm yet sharp responses leave the audience stunned — and the host struggling to keep control.”

However, the supposed interview never actually occurred. Buried in the video description is a disclaimer that clearly states the content is fictional. “The stories presented on this channel are entirely fictional and crafted solely for entertainment. Any resemblance to real events, individuals, or situations is purely coincidental and unintentional.

These narratives are not intended to depict, reference, or represent any actual occurrences, persons, or entities,” the disclaimer reads. Additionally, YouTube flagged the video as “altered or synthetic content,” signaling to viewers that the clip was AI-generated. Everything in the video—from the narration and visuals to the editing and thumbnail image—was fake, as confirmed by fact-checking outlet Snopes.

Despite the obvious disclaimers and AI markers, many viewers in the comments section appeared to believe the fabricated interview was real. Enthralled by Melania Trump’s alleged “sharp” and “classy” responses, commenters showered the fictional exchange with praise.

“Wow, Melania’s response was sharp, classy, and absolutely unforgettable! This moment was pure gold — what a way to handle the situation!” one commenter wrote. Another gushed, “She always stays calm and poised. So leave her alone. I praise her for that. Most of us couldn’t do that.”

This is not the first time AI-generated content about the Trumps has gone viral. Snopes has previously debunked similar fabricated stories, including one involving Hunter Biden supposedly humiliating Barron Trump at a charity event.

As AI-generated videos become increasingly sophisticated, they continue to blur the line between entertainment and misinformation, leaving many social media users fooled despite clear disclaimers.
