Donald Trump, known for his provocative holiday messages, delivered another pointed Thanksgiving greeting, continuing his tradition of mixing holiday cheer with jabs at his political adversaries. The president-elect took to his Truth Social platform to share his version of goodwill, aimed at both supporters and critics.

“Happy Thanksgiving to all, including to the Radical Left Lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our Country, but who have miserably failed, and will always fail, because their ideas and policies are so hopelessly bad that the great people of our Nation just gave a landslide victory to those who want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump posted.

This year’s message echoes a sentiment Trump first expressed in 2013 when he famously tweeted a Thanksgiving greeting to “haters and losers” before entering politics. Now, as the president-elect, Trump used the occasion to highlight his electoral victory over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris. For the first time in his political career, Trump won the popular vote, securing 49.9% and narrowly missing an outright majority.

“Don’t worry, our Country will soon be respected, productive, fair, and strong, and you will be, more than ever before, proud to be an American!” Trump added. Reactions to Trump’s message were as divided as the nation. Critics on social media expressed disbelief at his return to power and ridiculed the tone of his post.

Tech reporter Matt Novak wrote on Bluesky, “I still can’t believe this motherf*cker is going to be the president again.” Another user, Jeffery Boes, joked, “First four words are okay, and after that, it’s just Grandpa got into the cooking sherry.”

On the other hand, Trump’s supporters, including his son Donald Trump Jr., celebrated the message. Trump Jr. posted on X, “Legendary. Mean Tweets and soon world peace. We are back. Happy Thanksgiving America.”

Others in Trump’s base shared similar enthusiasm, with one account declaring, “This is by far the happiest Thanksgiving in four years… Mean tweets from President Trump make the world go around.”

Trump’s polarizing holiday message underscores the stark contrasts in how Americans view his leadership and communication style. As he prepares for his second term, these divisions are likely to remain a defining feature of his presidency.
