Lauren Boebert, a Republican lawmaker from Colorado, has quickly risen through the ranks as a supporter of former President Donald Trump. Known for her eye-catching style, she made her debut in the political arena wearing tight jeans, sparkling heels, and blonde hair.
However, according to The Colorado Sun, Boebert later transformed her look, trading her bleached blonde hair and a plaid shirt for a long, dark hairstyle, red lips, and glasses, reminiscent of former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin. She has since experimented with this image, occasionally appearing without glasses in both family and political photo sessions to present a more carefree and fashionable persona.
Fans reacted to Boebert’s new, glasses-free style, with some embracing the change. “Stop covering up your big brown eyes with those ugly glasses,” one person commented on her Instagram. Others, however, criticized her look, with one user mocking, “No glasses again. Only for Congress. To try and look intelligent?? It ain’t working. Lol.”
According to The List, Boebert has frequently posted selfies and photos with her children, showcasing her evolving style. Not all the feedback has been positive. Some followers took issue with her makeup choices when she ditched her glasses. “Did she use a paintbrush to put 50 pounds of makeup on WTF?” one user remarked, while another added, “The makeup is as fake as her.”
There is even speculation among online users that the Colorado representative might be faking her need for glasses. “That’s extremely probable. Her ‘choice’ of glasses exactly fits the formula, too — dark frames and medium frame thickness,” tweeted one user, suggesting that Boebert might be using zero-power glasses to enhance her political image.
As per Nicki Swift, Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel also joined in the jokes about Boebert’s glasses during a 2021 monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live. He quipped, “This is a woman who wears glasses to make it seem like she can read.” In May 2024, Boebert posted photos from a high school graduation event where she appeared without glasses.
The change made her face look more angular and slightly older, with some supporters missing her signature red lipstick. “I’m missing the red lipstick,” one person wrote on Instagram. In April 2024, Boebert’s style evolution continued when she shared an update following an emergency blood clot removal surgery, which led to a diagnosis of May-Thurner Syndrome.
Despite her hospitalization, she posted pictures of herself holding her grandson, Tyler’s infant while wearing makeup but no glasses. The post received mixed reactions; while some fans praised her look, others criticized her heavy makeup. Nonetheless, Boebert’s style remains a point of interest and popularity among many of her supporters, even as opinions remain divided.
